Standardbred Placement Program

The SPPHA_ACT offers a placement program for Standardbred horses that are seeking new homes after having finished their harness racing careers; failed to make the grade as a harness racer; or, for some other reason, need a new home. This program is for the placement of horses that otherwise could end up at the knackery.
SPPHA_ACT is purely a non profit organisation. If someone is interested in owning a Standardbred, all you have to do is contact SPPHA_ACT and your name will be placed on a list for horse placement. When a Standardbred becomes available, you will be contacted and given the trainers details. SPPHA_ACT has no further dealings from this point onwards. Sometimes horses off the track have a low price attached to them. Trainers/Owners will do this to ensure the horse is moving on to someone who is going to look after it appropriately. The decision to take the horse is purely up to the person wanting a Standardbred and at the Trainer/Owner descression. The benefits of joining SPPHA_ACT is to have support from fellow Standardbred owners and assist us in further promoting the breed as a saddle horse with a cool and calm temperament.
